Fortified town of the Camargue
At the heart of the Camargue, Aigues-Mortes rises with its medieval ramparts above the lakes. With 6 towers and 10 gates, these city walls are impressive and offer an extraordinary religious heritage. The town’s past is relates to crusades and templars, but has become a beach resort today, that lives of the salt collected in the marshes. The marina is connected to Sète by the canals of the Rhône and Le-Grau-du-Roi.
